Our Eco English course is a learning experience that is unique among English language courses thanks to its specialised content and vocational excursions.
The course takes advantage of the beautiful countryside of North Devon, an area of England renowned for its fine views and natural habitats. Designed for students with a comprehensive level of English (intermediate+), it combines language learning with an awareness of ecological themes and issues. Based at The North Devon School of English, students have morning lessons that follow an eco theme, combining knowledge, debate and language use.
Afternoon and day activities have been specially chosen to reflect the nature of the course. These include a trip to the famous biomes of The Eden Project, a nature walk through Braunton Burrows, a UNESCO recognised biosphere, and a visit to Tapeley Park, a stately home with one of the oldest permaculture gardens in Europe. There will also be time for visiting the beach!
The course is seven days and includes five days of classes, afternoon and day excursions. Students use their new knowledge and English skills to prepare an eco based project for presentation. Accommodation is with a host family (this also includes a ‘family day’ when students can spend time with their hosts and get a valuable insight into British culture).
Our Eco course runs in August. Please contact us for more details.
