The North Devon region offers a unique experience for visitors. The fantastic beaches and wild scenery ensure students will discover a beautiful part of the UK.
The area is rich with history and legend. The wild coast was popular with pirates and smugglers and nearby Tintagel is said to be the home of King Arthur’s Camelot.
Ilfracombe and Westward Ho! are coastal towns that have been popular with tourists since the Victorian age, and a trip to Exeter provides a perfect combination of culture and shopping.
Apart from the great choice of fantastic beaches to visit in North Devon, Barnstaple is close to Exmoor National Park, offering great views across the moor and the delights of the coastal villages of Lynton and Lynmouth. We also run excursions to the unique coastal village of Clovelly.
The North Devon School of English is based in Barnstaple, the region’s capital. The central location is ideal for planning visits in the area. We have a number of standard excursion options that we offer, but can also customise trips for individual groups (for example on our eco course, we arrange visits that have an ecological theme).
Our programme of excursions is designed to show students the very best sights, history and culture the region has to offer.
