Visits to enjoy English culture

The sea, the waves, sandy beaches, lively fun parks, beautiful nature, treasure hunts, interesting museums, special guides with stories about pirates, history and the legend of King Arthur. Castles, quiz sheets, interviewing local English people, sports, games and projects.

You and your pupils live in carefully selected, friendly English host families, who will provide you with full board accommodation and enable you to participate in English family life in the safe environment of North Devon. Angela has personally inspected every family and their home.

Programmes

...for students
Roy and Angela can design courses to fit your particular needs. For example, you may want an emphasis on drama with a theatre visit, or special lessons in ecology with a project on the environment or preparation for an exam.

...for teachers
Roy is experienced as an international teacher and trainer working on British Council and SOCRATES-funded courses. He also trains TEFL teachers in the UK. "Tell me your teacher training needs" says Roy, "and I will arrange a special course for you and your fellow teachers". Teacher Training courses can run in Devon or your own country. Talking Heads provides courses for in-service training for German and Austrian Government Institutes.

...for adults
Roy will also design special courses for adults, eg in business, tourism or global communications.

Fluency and fun in the classroom

Roy and his tutors make the lessons humorous, practical and enjoyable. They use the experience of the visits and the families to tell the pupils "you learn all day, in the classroom, on the visits and with your host families. Our job is to make all that learning as effective and enjoyable as possible!"
